Frequently Asked
Questions
Is TuitionMatch Really Free to Use?
Yes. Our placement service is 100% free for applicants. We are paid by our network of education partners to help them find qualified students. You will never be asked for credit card information to use our website or speak with a Placement Specialist.
Is This a Student Loan I Have to Pay Back?
No. The WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) and TAA (Trade Adjustment Assistance) funds we help you access are grants, not loans. If you are approved by the state, the government pays the school directly on your behalf. You typically do not have to pay this money back as long as you complete the training.
What If I Don't Qualify for the Full Government Grant?
Don't worry. If you don't meet the specific criteria for a full voucher, our partners often have other options available, such as private scholarships, in-house payment plans, or sliding-scale tuition. We will help you explore every option to make training affordable.
How Long Does the Approval Process Take?
While state government timelines vary, working with TuitionMatch can speed things up. Because we help you prepare your documents before you apply, many of our candidates see approvals in 2 to 4 weeks. Without guidance, the process can often take months.
Do You Guarantee I Will Get a Job?
We cannot legally guarantee employment (no honest school can). However, we only partner with schools that offer robust Job Placement Assistance. This means they help you with resume writing, interview prep, and connecting with local employers who are actively hiring graduates.
Can I Keep My Current Job While I Train?
Yes. Many of our partner schools offer evening and weekend classes specifically designed for working adults. When you speak with your Placement Specialist, let them know your schedule so we can match you with a program that fits your life.
